Here you can see the various stages all ring work (billets at this stage) goes through prior to becomming an actual ring inlayed into your cue. Each piece starts out as a 1.5" square in lengths from 4" to 6" (depending how much we need and how quickly). We then turn these pieces round, cut the slots in various widths and spacing, inset the inlays (wood, silver, ivory or whatever the customer requires) and then glue it up as seen here. Once the glue has dried, we then turn it round again into the finished piece on the right. All that's left to do is drill a center hole in custom diameters that we use and then just slice off a ring in whatever thickness we require for a certain cue. It's that simple -- actually no it isn't; it's time consuming, labor intensive and very tedious work. But the end result is most certainly worth the effort.
