Testimonials

We haven't updated this page in years as we just don't have the time.

This is one page that we never planned on putting up but we gave in. What prompted us was that we just received an email from an old friend in New York (the last testimonial on this page) who we lost contact with but found us through the web. We sold him a cue a very long time ago. What memories!

Joe,

I love the way your cue plays. Best cue I ever played with. It's so evenly balanced when I'm stroking. I waited two years but now that I have your cue, I'll never play with anything else. Please put me on your list (again) for another one.

Joe,

The cue arrived and you sure protected it well in shipping it. I played with it last night and am very satisfied. I showed a few of the guys and they all agreed that it plays nice. Thanks a lot.

Joe,

Just got my cue. OUTRAGEOUS! The two year wait was worth it. I don't know if it's the G10 pin or it's just your cue but man, it plays great!

George

Note: During June, 2003 and May, 2004 we did not build any cues. That will explain the long delay between testimonials.

Joe,

Got my cue. I was beginning to think it was a lost cause but it arrived yesterday. Exceptional and I am really convinced that you build one of the best cues out there. The balance is freaking dynamite. The 18 or so month wait was well worth it. I want another one so put me down for one when you can deliver. Whatever the wait -- I'm in. I'll take whatever you make in the $1500-$2000 range.

Joe,

It took you long enough; 9 months! I will also say that it was definitely worth the wait. There were times that I thought it would never get here. You are the best and keep up the great work. Showed all my friends and a couple said that they will call you. I will definitely be in touch with another order as I want something a little more showy.

Dear Joe,

We just received the four billiard cues we ordered from you back in August (2001). I want to thank you very much for all your assistance. I especially want to thank you for taking the time to review the pictures we sent you of our billiard parlour. You helped my wife and myself colour coordinate the cues to the rooms decour. You did a superb job. They look absolutely georgous and add to the rooms overall beauty. They play nicely and feel well balanced in my hands. My wife told me to mention to you that her billiard cue feels so elegant. I do not know what an elegant feel is but she is quite happy with it.

My wife wants me to order 4 more similar but lighter billiard cues. Please call me at your earliest convenience at the office; use this number: xxx-xxx-xxxx. That is my private line. My neighbour Mitchell asked me to have you phone him about building a couple of billiard cues for his parlour too. You may phone him at xxx-xxx-xxxx.

Once again, thank you very much. You are a true craftsman.

Best wishes,

Baxter

Yo Joe:

Got my new cue. All I can say is thanks. It's a super playing cue and the balance is really nice. It doesn't feel like a 19oz cue. You really do build a nice cue, it's like glass. I love it and thanks for all your help. I'll stay in touch and send some shooters your way.

Joe:

Got my new cue this morning by Federal. Georgous! It was definitely worth the 6 month wait . Played with it all day and it was the hit of the room. I had people coming over to me all day and that's on a Saturday afternoon when the room is generally dead. Your Devastator Shaft? plays great. Sort of like a Predator -- point and shoot but with more grace; it's smooooooth. It took a little getting use to but I like it. Your Devastator II Break Shaft? is something else man. It took some getting use to but the balls just explode now. It sends the balls flying and I have clear shots at all of them. I was running out rack after rack. In fact, I was playing one guy who just sat there the whole time. The racks just seem to explode open everytime and with no effort. I don't know what it is about the shaft that causes the balls to explode; we were all trying to figure it out. It is a little heavier than a regular shaft but I don't know. Whatever and however you make these things is just great. No one else wanted to play 9 ball after seeing that cue break. I like both shafts but changing them out everytime is a pain in the ass. Can you just build me a cheap butt so I could have just a break cue with your Devastator II Break Shaft?? I think that's the way to go and I should have listened to you when you made that suggestion to me. Oh well... how long to make a sneaky pete butt out of cocobolo? Hey, thanks dude and I think you're going to get a few orders for your Devastator II Break Shaft?. Take your time building them! :-)

Dear Joe:

I just got my Road King Pro. Man, what a cue! The wait was definitely worth it. I ran to the pool room and had to play immediately. It's great!!! The owner of the room came over to me as the cue just stands out. In fact, a few people came over. They all wanted to try it out and loved it. Your price is quite reasonable as they all thought it was a $1000 custom cue. When I told them how much I paid, they all had a puzzling look. I gave out your number to a few friends which I am sure will call you.

It is flawless and plays effortlessly. If this is how your less expensive cues perform, I am definitely going to start saving up for one of your more expensive models. I love it and thanks for everything. You are indeed a great cue maker. I appreciate all the time you spent with me to assist me in choosing the right cue. You were right, I do love it.

Best wishes and you can be assured that whenever I hear anyone thinking about buying a custom cue - I will certainly send them to you!

You're the best!

Joe:

My new Sneaky Pete arrived yesterday after waiting almost 7 months. I couldn't wait to get onto a table. I played with it all night and everyone came over to me to see my new cue. It plays great and it's finished to perfection. The best playing and best looking sneaky I ever used. In fact, a few of my friends are seriously interested in getting one so I gave them your number. Do the best you can for them as I know you raised your price from last year to this year but they are the best damn sneaky petes around and worth every penny. I am very happy with mine. Also, put me down for another one as I want to buy my girlfriend one too. Make her the rosewood one. I'll send you out a deposit tomorrow.

Thanks again for all the advice over the months. I feel as if I made a new friend in the cue making business.

Thanks again,

Richie L.

Hello Joe:

This is Big Mike from Brooklyn. I just spoke to Tony and he told me that you're in Florida. That's great. How have you been? Hope all is well. I now live in New Jersey with the wife and kids. I still have the cue you made for me way back when. It still plays great and I always get offers on it up here. Tony told me that he spoke to you and you're designing him a new one. I'd like a new one also. I went through your website; very nice. I like the Cocobolo and ivory one you have up. Can you make that one with say 4 veneers and a matching butt sleeve like the 8 point one you have up? Put some silver rings in it too with some nice ring work. Let me know approximately when I can expect it so I can sell my old one. I got a guy here who has been after me for 2 years to sell it to him.

Call me as I'd really like to talk to you about the cue and old times. You still hanging up shots? What did we call you at one time -- Joe "hang ups" or something like that. :-) That was a tough period for you; I remember when you lost that Balabushka. Shame but if I recall correctly you won quite a bit from that turkey afterwards. Oh well, ya gotta take the good with the bad.

Anyway, the rest of the guys will be calling you as Tony got in touch with everyone up here.

Best regards,

Big Mike

Hey Joe!

Holy shoot! This is Tony "Spumoni" from New York. I can't believe this is you. I was searching around the net for cues to just see what's out there and came across your super web site. You came up in one of the search results and I saw the name Barringer; I said, could it be! So I went to your site and started clicking around for some hints. Well, your 'about us' convinced me that it was you. What memories that page brought back. I remember when you lost that Balabushka to that @#@$^&*(&&$@. I can't believe you still have that Palmer. That was a great cue; what's it worth today? Man, I can't believe it's you after all these years. Do you remember the cue you sold me like 15 years ago? Well, I still have it and it is still the best cue. It's a little rough after all these years but plays great. I won't let anyone touch it. We still talk about you up here and we all say the same thing - you made the best cues for all of us! Wait till I tell the guys, you'll have about 10 orders from all of us. I can't believe this, after all these years. This is fantastic. I'll spread the word up here that you're around. You'll get a ton of business.

I see that you now make your own pins and shafts. This is absolutely incredible. Joe, I want a new cue. I wasn't really looking for one, well maybe I was. What are the odds of this, finding you! Make me something traditional in the $1000 range out of cocobolo with ebony points or something. 18 3/4oz like my other one. Make me something nice. Hey, are you using that Barrinjoint in your personal cue? If so, put it in mine. You were the only guy I knew that could get a cue to weigh in at exactly what I wanted. Cut me a deal. :-) Hey, I'll send you my old cue; spruce it up so I can sell it now. There's a bunch of guys that want it but I would never sell it cause it's my best cue. Now I can sell it. This is great!!

Here's my phone number, call me. Let's shoot the breeze. I go to Florida every February so I'll definitely stop by. We'll play some 9 ball; you'll still spot me the 7? :-) Hey, get back to me ASAP as I really want to talk to you. I got to tell you what's been going on up here.

Tony S.
